Hi Anu,

1) From what I understand you cannot deploy your own Java applications on the web servers that are provided by PeopleSoft. i.e. you cannot create your own JSP, WAR, servlet, etc and deploy it to the WebLogic that is included as part of the PeopleTools license.

2) You may or may not be able to but as per #1 you probably shouldn't...

Hi,
I'm new to peoplesoft. I know that peoplesoft architecture has a Webserver and app server running.

1) Can i deploy a Java Webapplication on these servers?
2) Does peoplecode has the capability to call a component from the deployed web application?

Best Regards
Anu

I do not speak for Oracle however we do work closely with Oracle when proposing PeopleSoft to new customers. My understanding is that PeopleSoft is licensed based on metrics such as revenue or number of employees; you can technically run as many instances or VMs on as many servers with as many CPUs as you want so long as your production application instance does not exceed whatever metric is tied to your licensing.

What about Peoplesoft Licensing, if I have a VM with that is moved across multiple hosts in an ESX cluster then does Peoplesoft need to be license for processors on all the hosts. Or is it licensed by the vCPU that you assign the VM?
